Blessings beloved family!
1. We received the call to Turkey in April 2020, during the pandemic. The Lord gave us a sense of urgency to spread the gospel to the least, the least, and the lost. The Lord began speaking to us about the Middle East, and knowing that this area is the least reached in the world, we knew it was there. We began to pray, and the Lord showed us Turkey—the least evangelized country in the world and a key country for the 10/40 Window. 2-3. We arrived in Turkey in July 2021. That same month, we were able to connect with a pastor, who invited us to the local church where she served with a Turkish pastor in a town in Izmir. When we met the pastor and his family, the Lord confirmed to us that we were coming to Turkey to lift up his arms. Just as Joshua lifted up his arms to Moses, we would have to lift up the pastor's arms. There we learned that the pastor was about to hand over the church and retire from the ministry. I was very tired. From the first meeting we had with the pastor, he showed us great affection and love. The following week we were already in the church serving in worship, singing in Turkish.
4. In this first year, we have been able to lead worship in the church, since there had been no worship for four years. We have also been able to disciple young believers in the church and have witnessed baptisms. We now have the first doctrinal book of the Church of God translated into Turkish. We have also been able to give our first sermons in Turkish in the church. In addition, every Thursday we are holding worship, prayer, and evangelism in Tire, a county where there are no churches and no Christians. We have worked with refugee families from Syria, teaching English and music classes, and we have visited the homes of our Turkish brothers and sisters. This first year, the Lord has allowed us to learn a lot and see the need there is in Turkey. 5. By 2023, we aim to formally establish the first Church of God and work toward the purchase of a church building. We will also rent a space to meet in Tire and establish the first house of prayer, complete with a mission school.
