It all began in February 2019, serving as district supervisors for the San Antonio, Texas district of the Church of God South Central Hispanic Region when we took over the care of the Palm Heights Church of God. After 13 years in pastoral ministry, my wife, Cheila, and my three daughters, Dachelis, Magdielis, and Angelika, began a new page in the history of this church in San Antonio, Texas.
We arrived at the church, and only 11 members welcomed us with open arms. We were all entering a new phase of the church. The church was undergoing a pastoral change, and a pastoral family from Arizona was coming to pastor the church.
As the weeks passed, the pastoral family from Arizona was unable to come for personal reasons, and the church leaders asked us if we could stay on as their pastors. We responded by asking them to take a time of prayer and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to see what the Lord's will was. After several weeks of prayer, and under the supervision of our Administrative Bishop, Dr. Fidencio Burgueno, the decision was made, and we accepted to be the official pastors of the church. After speaking with the leaders and the congregation, on March 31, 2019, our Administrative Bishop performed the pastoral installation ceremony, where we continue to be the pastors of this beautiful congregation to this day.
Since then, we have worked to restructure the leadership, make disciples, instruct in the Word, ministered in the community, and made ourselves known during the difficult times of the pandemic crisis, where we were a blessing by providing food and other things to families in need.
We are a church that cares for the family. We care about healthy relationships between each person within the family unit.
God has prepared and trained us for these end times. As long as we breathe, we will work in the Lord's kingdom to reach and save souls for Christ. We teach and preach the sound doctrine and revelation of God's Word. We are committed to not straying from the Holy Scriptures, which are our biblical foundation. "We are a church with a biblical foundation."
Today, the Lord has blessed us with a wonderful congregation, leaders committed to the work, ministries of service to others; in short, we are a family.
We thank God for giving us the privilege of being called by Him to the pastoral ministry.
A big and warm hug!!!
